Kelly House, Beechworth is one of three dwellings at 56 High St offering ECO friendly, traditional, historic and unique luxury Beechworth accommodation, reflecting the colonial era.The ideal getaway escape for 3 couples, families or that 'long to be pampered' girls weekend. Other accommodation includes Pickett Cottage (1 bed) and Wright House (2 bed).Spring Creek offers a delightful back drop with 150-year-old poplars towering high in the sky, offering glorious shade, the rustling of wind through the leaves and a home to kookaburras and local birds.

Kelly House, was originally called "Glenwood", is circa 1895 and was relocated in November 2006 from Berwick (Melb) to Beechworth.

It has been restored and renovated to a luxury self contained house with 2 open fires and includes all the character of 19th century charm. This compliments the 3 gorgeous bedrooms and 3 ensuites of which 2 offer spas. Kelly House has been specifically renovated with 3 couples in mind. A comfy innerspring sofabed is available in one of the 2 living rooms for a fourth couple or extra person. Also serving this area is a powder room with a 4th toilet and hand basin. A fully functional and well equipped kitchen including dishwasher, microwave, oven/cooktop, fridge/freezer, coffee percolator along with all crockery, cutlery and required accessories is supplied.

Take your choice of eating indoors or outdoors where a large elevated deck with bbq and seating for 8 overlooks the rolling green lawns, spectacular century old poplars and Spring Creek. In addition to the 2 wood fireplaces, ducted A/C and heating is provided throughout each room of the house with individual controls to each bedroom. Entertainment is offered with 3 tv's, one being 42" screen and 2 dvd players, and a HiFi stereo cd/radio. A laundry with washing machine and dryer is provided for those longer stays.

The property prides itself on being ECO friendly having installed a 5 kw grid connected solar system thus providing most of the electricity usage via green power, also a solar hot water storage tank with gas boost provides hot water to the properties of up to 20 showers a day. As well as this, a number of water tanks have been installed supplying toilets and garden watering.

Kelly House (upper level) and Wright House (lower-level) have been named after the historic 20 round bare-fisted fight that Ned Kelly had with "wild" Wright, The fight ignited over a horse theft that Ned was jailed for after he was found in possession of the horse Wright stole. The fight took place on this property at Beechworth at the rear of the Imperial Hotel in 1874 that was once thriving in this location in its hay day.
